Reflecting on Our 2023: Milestones and Impact

As we wave goodbye to another incredible year, let’s pause for a moment to think about what we’ve achieved with our projects, Enter the Circle and Green Digital. These projects mean a lot to us because they show how we’re committed to doing our part for the environment.

Enter the Circle: Championing Circular Economy Heroes

Enter the Circle is a special project because it’s all about teaching young entrepreneurs how to be heroes of the circular economy. It was our first-ever funded project, and it’s changed the way we work and make a difference. Here are some things we’ve done this year:

πŸ”„ Circular Economy Workshops: We’ve run workshops that help businesses and regular people understand what a circular economy is and how it can make the world better.

πŸš€ Helping Circular Entrepreneurs: We’ve made friends with other groups who care about the same things we do. Together, we’re finding new ways to help the environment and help young entrepreneurs succeed. We’ve even worked with 10 entrepreneurs and collaborated with our partners from Cyprus and Greece.

🌟 Changing Businesses: Our project has made businesses start doing things in a circular way. That means they waste less and use fewer resources, which helps them make more money.

Green Digital: Bringing Tech and Nature Together

Green Digital is a project that tries to make technology and nature work together. Here are some things we’ve done:

🌐 Tech That Helps the Environment: We’ve come up with new ways of using technology that don’t hurt the environment. These ideas can help save money, make work easier, and keep the planet clean. Our friends in Austria and Italy are working with us on this.

πŸ“š Learning Together: We’ve taught lots of people and groups how to use technology in a way that helps the environment. So far, 35 people have learned from us.

🀝 Working With Experts: We’re not doing this alone. We’re working with our partners from Italy and Austria who are good at what they do, and together, we’re making a better future.

Our Rural Eco-Tourism Adventure

At the end of 2023, we started a new adventure. We want to make tourism in rural places better for the environment. We also want to show off the cool things you can find in these places. This collaboration is done in collaboration with Italy, Cyprus, and Romania.

Our Impact, Measured

Being kind to the environment is at the heart of our work. Here’s how we’re making a difference:

πŸ”Œ Energy Efficiency: We’re conscious of our energy usage. Think about it – one laptop and one cellphone may seem small, but together, they account for around 350 kg of CO2 in energy consumption annually. That’s like planting several trees!

♻️ Reducing Waste: We dispose of our waste thoughtfully, ensuring it doesn’t harm our planet. We won’t specify the waste type, but we’re committed to minimizing our environmental footprint.

πŸš— Travel: While travel is sometimes necessary, we’ve rethought how we move. We’re big fans of bikes and buses, and we’ve reduced our car and plane use significantly.

Our travel stats:

  • Car: 5,062 km
  • Public Transport: 5,547 km
  • Plane: 53,475 km
  • Bike: 214 km

In total, this adds up to approximately 20 tons of CO2.

How We did at Events

This year, we hosted 15 events, each drawing around 15 participants. That’s a bustling crowd, but it also means increased environmental impact. Here’s an estimate of the CO2 emissions we’ve generated, which equates to roughly 2 tons.

Looking Forward to 2024

We’re gearing up for an exciting year ahead:

🌍 We’re launching new projects that focus on capacity building in development regions, enhancing communities of entrepreneurs, and fostering sustainable growth.

✈️ Smarter Travel: In 2023, we decreased air travel, opting for remote meetings and virtual events whenever possible. We’re committed to continuing this trend.

πŸ’‘ Collaborations: We’re open to collaborations that drive positive change and amplify our impact.

As we step into this new year, we’re fueled by the numbers and the impact we’ve achieved. Our dedication to sustainability, circularity, and responsible digital practices remains at core. We’ll keep innovating, educating, and collaborating, forging a path toward a more sustainable and interconnected future.

Thank you for being part of our journey and sharing in our vision for a better world.
